This prize is awarded by SISCOG, and the beneficiary will receive:

  • a diploma;
  • a money prize of 500€;
  • "One day at SISCOG" - the possibility of getting acquainted with the application of Operational Research in real and internationally marketed products, staying for a day at the Innovation Department of SISCOG. Includes support for travelling and staying costs.

The Isabel Themido Award (Prémio Isabel Themido) intends to reward the best papers published by the  APDIO members. This prize is funded  by a Capital fund endowment established  by the results of the IFORS'93 conference (held in Lisbon) and by additional donations.

The nominated  papers for the Award must be published in 2017 or 2018 in peer-reviewed  International Scientific Journals in the areas connected with Operational Research and its applications.  The language of the publication should be English. The complete reference of a submitted  paper should be provided, namely, the  journal title and ISSN, volume,  issue , page numbers and the year.

The nominations can be submitted by the authors or/and by any APDIO member.

The nominations can be submitted in the form of a letter sent  by  April 15th 2019, either by post mail to:

The list of nominations will be available at the APDIO webpage www.apdio.pt by April 30th, 2019.

The jury chaired by Prof. José Dias Coelho will be formed by 4 additional members nominated by the APDIO Board. The jury may award the prize ex-aequo or to assign an honorable distinction to the relevant papers. The jury reserves the right to not award the prize. There is no recall of jury decisions.

The prize will be awarded during the IO2019 conference.
